The box is completely collector friendly, with no twisties or even
rubber bands. There's a ton of clingy plastic wrap, but it will keep
the paint work clean and unblemished.
There's no Certificate of
Authenticity, and no edition numbering. They just don't roll that way.

The Bishoujo style reminds me of a cross between anime and the Vargas
style of pin-up girl from the 40'5 and 50's. They are sexy, bodacious
and beautiful, with huge anime eyes and tiny manga noses.
The
pose is extremely sexy, and yet it works with the general concept of
Ivy and her plants. The vines wrapping around her feet have a bit of a
Little Shop of Horrors feel, with plenty of detail. Feed me, Seymour!
The
statue and base are PVC, not resin, but that helps to keep the cost
down, a big plus. The figure and base are one piece in the package, and
not intended to be taken apart.
These statues are fairly large,
coming in at around 8" tall. They'll dwarf the Batman Black and White
statues, but aren't quite as large as the Cover Girls.
Paint - ***1/2
I'm not sure what it is this time around, but there's something about
the quality of the paint that's a cut above some of the other recent
releases. It's not a matter of slop or clean cut lines - they are great
here, but they've been great on past statues as well. The basic quality
is excellent, but there's more to it than that. There's something about
the color and finish that seems richer, deeper, and more high end. The
skin color is particularly well done, but the color variations on the
plants and costume are great as well.
The
eyes have a nice glossy appearance, but the only flaw I see - and the
reason for the half star drop - is the position of the left pupil. It's
just slightly, and I really do mean slightly, too far under the hair.
That eye needed to be peeking out slightly more to capture that full
four stars.
Value - ***1/2
I just reviewed the latest
Batman Black and White statue, which is almost two inches shorter...and
$70. Here you're getting an 8" statue for around $50 - $60 at most
retailers, and that's an extremely good deal these days, particularly
with the higher quality paint we see with this release.
Things to Watch Out For -
Zippo.
Overall - ****
While I like the Marvel Bishoujo statues, it's the DC ladies that
really trip my trigger. The pin up style really works, and they've done
a great job with pose selection. The paint quality on this one is a
step above as well, and the fact that these can still be had for under
$60 is pretty amazing.
