Introduction
Warframe is a relatively new game, released just last year. Players, in teams of up to four, are the
Tenno, a warrior race that wears the 'Warframe', an exo suit.
Players go on various missions and battle three different antagonistic creature races, vying for
survival. Yea, you've heard that same story more than once before, but the Warframe suits are pretty
damn cool.
One of these Warframe suits is 'Excalibur', and as the name implies, is particularly bad ass with bladed
weapons. Symbiote Studios has
produced a statue of this particular Warframe, done in a paint scheme right from the game. This makes
double sense - it's one of the first suits a player can pick, and it one of the better looking.
This guy stands about 8 1/4" tall with the base, and is limited to just 1111 pieces. You can pick him up
direct from Symbiote
for $80.

Packaging - ***
The exterior box looks good, and is collector friendly, of course. But they went with the el cheapo
Styrofoam which tends to fall apart when you breathe on it, and end up all over the place.
While this is a limited edition, there's no Certificate of Authenticity. The number and edition size are
on the bottom of the statue, however.

Sculpting - ***1/2
The sculpt is excellent, creating a character who looks like he walked right out of the game.
Proportions are excellent, and there's a ton of small detail work on the weapons and suit.
This guy comes in multiple pieces. The base and statue are separate, held together by a metal and
polystone post. The sword held in the left hand is separate, is is the gun that attaches to his back.
The assembly is very easy, and the final product looks terrific. I particularly like the base, where an
opponent lay in pieces at his feet.

Paint - ***1/2
The major colors look great - sort of a gray scale appearance, with just a little tint. The majority of
the cut lines are clean, and there's very, very little slop.
There are some design choices I'm not super thrilled with, like some of the hatching that seems too
broad and thick around the torso. A few of the black edge lines are slightly off as well, but these are
very minor nits in an otherwise excellent application.

Value - ***
A lot of the statues in this scale are getting close to $100 these days, and some, like DC Bombshells,
have passed that mark. He's in between the Batman Black and White scale and the DC Bombshells
scale, and his price point of $80 falls in between as well.

Things to Watch Out For -
The sword feels a bit brittle - take care when handling it.

Overall - ***1/2
Video games remain a major inspiration for statues, figures and busts, because they continue to generate
such interesting forms and creatures. The Warframe 'suits' have an interesting biological look to
them, and Excalibur is an interesting cross between rhino and crustacean.
Fans of the game will like this guy, and the scale and price are about right. And with an actually
limited edition size, I suspect they'll sell through pretty quickly.
