Introduction
Several weeks ago, I dug out my old talking Donald Trump sixth scale action figure from storage. Many years ago, this figure was a regular feature in many of my reviews, standing in as a size comparison and in general being the fool. Times have certainly not changed the latter.
I thought I'd create a few cartoon photos using the figure, based on things the man has said before and during the election process. I'm calling them 'Trumpisms', and the general format is simple. It starts with "When Trump says..." and ends with "I think..." and some sort of photo.
The first one was pretty straight forward based on his favorite slogan. Sadly, I could only come up with a Barbie toilet, and as all sixth scale
fans know, they are always woefully undersized. Still, I think you get the general idea...
The next photo was my favorite so far. Most of his selections should be obvious, but a couple might not be.
In the back we have Bane, Saruman, and the Predator. In the middle row is a T-600 Terminator with fake skin, Voldemort, and of course, Pamela Voorhees, Jason's mom. Hey, you know he'll pick at least one woman for his cabinet for appearance's sake, and Pam seemed like a good choice to me. In the final row, you have Toht, Dr. Smith, Igor from Young Frankenstein, and of course, Jar Jar.
Of course, all of these require different levels of understanding of various pop culture characters. Fans of SNL should get the next one:
If you don't get that one, check out Stuart Smalley on Youtube. I had to eventually ge around to his dumbest campaign promise, and it just seemed right that Captain America be involved. Fans of Edgar Allen Poe will appreciate this one, although I'm not sure Trump could appreciate a good Cask of Amontillado.
This next one is actually stolen, er, based on a concept from an old Dilbert cartoon, where the pointy haired boss gets a new laptop...by the way, that's a glassless Stan Lee working on the laptop across from Trump.
This next one is sort of a reverse Trumpism - a quote by the other character in the shot. And actually, I don't think Spock ever put it quite like that...but I took a little creative license to get the point across.
While much of the world sees Trump as evil, I have to say I see him as wholly incompetent. In practice, there might not be much difference.
I had to revisit this twisted relationship again. I know who the pitcher and who the catcher is in this pair.
I haven't shot any of these in awhile, but with the events this last week in Charlottesville and his pathetic response, it was just too obvious.
If you have ideas for future Trumpisms, drop me a line. Watch this space for the next cartoon!
