Packaging - N/A
This set is sold as a
kit-bashers ‘add on’, or an ‘expansion outfit’ if you will.
It’s in no way an ‘official’
release and has nothing to do with Enterbay, so the packaging is purely
utilitarian, in so much as it’s poly-bagged then placed into a padded
jiffy-envelope, so lightweight with maximum protection, mine arrived as
good as new.
Tailoring - Jacket ***1/2 Jeans
**3/4
The outfit consists of three items, so you are required to use the
shirt, vest, shoes and socks that come with the standard figure as
well. What you actually get in the bag is a belt, jeans and a jacket,
these are tailored to fit the RM-1 but I’m sure they could be worn on
anything from a Sideshow ‘Buck’ to a Hot Toys ‘True-Type’.
The belt is a soft pliable pleather material with a simple under, over,
under slip through buckle and it’s plenty long for if you want to trim
it down a little. The jeans are a nice classic straight leg cut with
working pockets throughout, however the material is quite thick, you
might find a warm water wash will soften them up, just be sure to work
them as they dry. You’ll also find the length on the leg is quite long
and the waist quite high, if he were just going to be wearing the jeans
and his shirt they could look a bit bulky, but with the jacket on they
look just fine, looking even better when worn with both the Kevlar vest
and the jacket. The jacket is by far my favourite item; it’s cut to be
roomy, so it hangs very well even when posing with the arms up in
weapon holding stances.
Again all the pockets work and it’s fully lined. It has a
non-functional zipper on the front, but although it doesn’t actually
work the size of the teeth are pretty good at this scale.
Quality - ***1/2
The two garments are very well made, all the pockets work and there
were no loose threads or faults anywhere on mine. Both seem to be made
of cotton, the jacket may be a poly-cotton I can’t actually tell. But
all the materials used seem pretty hardy and well finished. As I said
above there are no bad seams or loose threads, so the degree of
finishing seems well observed and controlled.

You’ll find onesixthbruce
selling this set for £25 shipped anywhere worldwide, by UK standards
that seems like a reasonably good deal, not exceptional but you’re
getting some well made, pretty limited hand finished 1/6th garments for
that price. They’re not quite up there at the Harue, Hot Toys or
Enterbay standard, but they are approaching Medicoms and surpass most
of Sideshow’s. The jeans that came with the first M-Icon James Dean really set a
very high benchmark for any that follow, but these are still very well
executed!
All the stitching is good and
the weathering is pretty convincing on the thighs, the main thing that
could do with a little work is sourcing a thinner denim type fabric, so
I’m hopeful subsequent outfits will just get better and better!
Overall
- ***
This is a great set for any
hardcore 24 fans, and I hope Kunch and/or onesixthbruce follow up with
some other outfits from different ‘times’ and seasons (it seems
likely). The jacket is by far the best item in my opinion and by simply
adding this to your existing Jack, it’s quite a transformation! If the
scale fabric could be improved and the price trimmed a little then this
would be even closer to a full score, but it’s still a very cool set.
