The People's Pick Awards for 2005

Another year already - man, they just fly by.  And there's been a TON of cool product this year, making the choices tougher than ever. I won't be posting my choices til after the voting is finished, to avoid swaying any votes.

There's a giveaway to go along with this of course, as a little extra incentive to vote.  Hey, I know there's a lot to choose from, so I've put together 10 prize packs to make it a little less painful.  Make sure you indicate which prize packs you're most interested in (and you can pick more than one) to improve your odds of winning something you like.  And this isn't an at cost giveaway - I'll be paying shipping (to U.S. entrants, International will still have to cover their shipping). The prizes are:

- Prize 1: Ron English's Rabbbit vinyl figure.  Bring home a little hoppy fun!  This guy is loose, but otherwise perfect.

- Prize 2: Warriors, come out and play!  This prize is the SDCC 2004 exclusive Ajax, completely with bloody face.  He comes MOMC, right from SDCC!

- Prize 3: And if you're looking for another SDCC 2004 Mezco exclusive, here it is - Scarface!  This 8" vinyl version has the gritted teeth and dark suit from the summer show.

- Prize 4: Pull a rabbit out of your hat with the Rocky and Bullwinkle Christmas ornaments!  It is that time of the year, and these will look good on display all year round.  They're back in the original box too, in case you want to store them between seasons.

- Prize 5: Here's a bunch of Mcfarlane stuff, old and new.  First, there's a MOMC Total Chaos Conqueror, the one with the cool clear green head.  Then there's the second version of the collector's club Biker Chick, this time wearing the red outfit, MOMC. There's also a Total Chaos exclusve red amour version of Al Simmons, also MOMC.  Next, there's a loose set of the Wallace and Gromit PVC figures.  Finally, throw in three of the Wallace and Gromit plushes - two of Gromit and one of Hutch - and you have all kinds of mish-mash!

- Prize 6: For the Buffy fans, there's the Buffy vs Dracula mini-bust, complete in her box.  This one is number 1140 if you're wondering.

- Prize 7: I can't leave out the Predator fans - here's the stealth exclusive version of the Predator 2 microbust!  He's the all clear one you see in the review, he's number 422 out of just 500 produced, and he's complete in his original packaging as well.

- Prize 8: What would a big giveaway be without some Muppets?  This prize includes a MOMC Marvin Suggs, a MOMC Sam the Eagle (with variant shifty eyes!), a MOMC mini-muppet Dog Lion, and a MOMC mini-muppet Kermit the Frog.

- Prize 9: Speaking of SDCC exclusives, this prize is the Toynami SDCC exclusive Sesshomaru and Jaken from the hit show Inuyasha.  They're still MIB, but the box has some wear.  You're going to open it up anyway, right?

- Prize 10: Last, and some might say least, is a full set, all MOMC, of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  Hey, all four of them aren't that bad - the Vogons are pretty cool.

Be sure to select which prize pack you're most interested in.  I can't guarantee that's the one you'll get, so the wise man selects more than one!  Thanks for voting, and watch for the results in early January!

Oh, and only one entry per email address.  I will delete any that are from a duplicate email address before pulling the winners, so it won't do you much good anyway.  Thanks - on to the voting!

Best of 2005 Poll

NOTE - for categories like articulation, sculpting and packaging, I always think in terms of companies rather than lines.  That's why the suggestions are all companies, but feel free to use the Other box on any question to vote for your particular favorite.

Also be sure to read through ALL the choices before voting.  There were a lot of lines, companies, and figures this year, and you might forget something or someone from earlier in the year.  I tried to be relatively comprehensive, but the other box is always there for your specific needs.

You'll also notice that many of the same figures or lines might end up in best or worst categories.  I know that folks have highly varying opinions on this stuff.  Also, my suggestions are meant not as the end all, be all list, but as a reminder of all the companies and lines that were out there in 2005.  I've actually pruned the lists down somewhat from past years, but there's still a ton to choose from.

I've added links for many of the choices as well.  I was a little hesitant to do this, since not all will have links, and that might alter the voting in itself.  Also, I tend to think that if a figure or line didn't make enough of an impression on you to remember it, you probably shouldn't be voting it Best or Worst.  But it was widely requested last year, so we'll give it a try.  When it comes to lines, the links obviously point to a representative sample of some sort.

Also new this year, I've included links to specific toys whenever possible so you can remind yourself what they were.  Thanks for voting!
